Happiness is, imagination incarnate

You know that feeling when what you imagine bounds into reality with unexpected brightness? It shortens all the hours of mulling, frustration and misdirection down to nanoseconds.

So went my quest to refresh the logo for my line of teddy bears.

Ideas have  jostled around my head for years, but revision seemed impossible with little money to pay a designer and a yawning fear of the programs I’d have to learn to do it myself.

After nearly 20 years in journalism, I know that getting the look, story or image you want is 20 percent communication and 80 execution. Let’s be honest: There’s a fine line between a great idea and a hot mess.

I’ve been on both sides. I brag about the successes, but cringe over projects botched by yours truly or, in my view, someone else.

Once, I was so steamed about the disappointing treatment of one project I stormed out of the office saying “Kill me now! Just kill me now!” It wasn’t my finest moment, but in my defense, I did feel like I’d swallowed razor blades that day.

Seriously.

The next day, my doctor told me I had hand, foot and mouth. Pray you never get it.  But I digress.

Here, then, is the banner for the Toys by Toddles store that will soon open at a web site near you.
